I like to think of this as borrowing someone else’s crown. Imagine this. Someone walk down the street with a gorgeous crown on their head. You see it, and want to borrow it. The crown looks good on you for few days, but then it becomes heavier and heavier and instead of helping you it starts to hunch your spine.
This is what happens when we try and copy someone else. The crown starts to hunch our spines. The crown is your purpose and mission. Similar to the tree’s crown, yours would also grow through you and as you. The crown that grows through you will help you move with more ease and grace.
Similarly, when the creative flow gets polluted when it has to live in a polluted environment.
I do not believe in creative block. I believe in a creative flow. I believe in the movement of LIFE- DEATH – LIFE. The same applies to the creative flow. The creative rhythm is one of insemination, growth, spurge, decrease, death, incubation, and then back to insemination.
However there is a difference between incubation and desperation. During the incubation phase, we keep having an expectation for something to appear. We know that something is cooked within us. On the other hand, the desperation is different. At this point the water is so polluted that we lose hope and drive.
